The codex is the third volume of a Livius series, commissioned by György Handó (c. 1430–1480) Grand Provost of Pécs and later Archbishop of Kalocs-Bács (1478). The other two volumes in the series are the following. First decade: Città del Vaticano, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Barb. Lat. 168; third decade: Verona, Biblioteca Capitolare, Cod. Lat. CXXXVI (124). All three volumes entered the Corvina Library later. [1] The third corvina of the Biblioteca Capitolare of Verona, containing the first decade of Livius (Biblioteca Capitolare, Cod. Lat. CXXXV (1253), does not belong to the series of György Handó, but was once in the possession of Johannes Vitéz de Zredna (c. 1408–1472), archbishop of Esztergom, as his autograph marginal notes attest. [2] The other codices of György Handó in the surviving stock of the Corvina Library are: Budapest, OSZK, Cod. Lat. 418., Cod. Lat. 438., Città del Vaticano, BAV, Barb. Lat. 168; London, British Library, Landsdowne Ms. 836, Wien, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, Cod. 224, Cod. 2384.[3] (Edina Zsupán)
